To start:

1. Select ereader.
   Choose your ereader from the pop-up list. A cookie will remember your selection for future visits. If your ereader is not included in the list please email support@coolerbooks.com. By selecting your ereader, you will only be shown ebooks in compatible formats. This removes the worry of purchasing an unreadable ebook.
2. Browse our bookstore and purchase any titles which catch your eye.
3. Transfer your new ebooks to your ereader

To access protected ebooks, all users need to unlock their ebooks first. Once an ebook is unlocked it can be opened and read on a computer screen or transferred to an ereader.

COOLERBOOKS actively support Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) as we believe it offers protection to authors and publishers whilst offering customers freedom to use ebooks in the manner they want.

Please follow the steps below to use ADE with your protected ebooks.

1. 1. Download and activate ADE software on your computer
• You will need an Adobe ID, sign up here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/membership
• Download the ADE software to your computer: http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions and follow the onscreen instructions to install and activate ADE.
2. 2. Activate your COOL-ER with ADE - or any ereader device that supports ADE
• Once you have installed and activated ADE on your computer; leaving ADE open, connect your ereader to your computer.
• ADE will prompt you via a pop up to ‘activate device’ – Please follow these steps. *
• Within ADE ‘Library View’, a new Book Shelf will be created made up by your device name and icon.

Your ADE software and your ereader are now all set to work together, from now on you will just need to open ADE and plug your ereader into your computer.

1. 3. Download ebooks to ADE
   Note: please make sure that ADE is open on your computer.
• Sign in to COOLERBOOKS and go to your “My Account” page, select and click on the ebook you want to download. You will be taken to that ebook’s download page.
• Click on the ebook title to download and, when prompted by your computer, open the download with “Adobe Digital Editions”. Your ebook will now download to ADE. **
2. 4. Load ebooks on to your ereader
• Connect your COOL-ER or other ereader to your computer, locate the ereader bookshelf within Library View and then simply drag and drop your ebook.
• Unplug your ereader and your ebook will be located within your Digital Editions folder.

* if ADE does not ‘recognise’ your COOL-ER, press Ctrl – Shift – E to force activation.

** if your ebook does not download direct to ADE, locate the ebook file on your computer, the file will normally be named ‘BOOKTITLE’.acsm (on a PC it will most likely be in Documents > Downloads) then simple drag and drop this file into your open ADE, and the book will then download to ADE.
